Calunnia is a game about silent communication, suspicion, and visual interpretation that challenges players to read each other—without saying a word.
ART DIRECTION
The graphic design of Calunnia is a pandemonium of visual styles. Inspired by brazilian collagists Tide and André Hellmeister, we've blended collage, illustration, photography, and surrealism, emphasizing the plasticity and dreamlike quality of the art.
With a diverse range of references and inspirations, Calunnia offers an immersive dive into the surreal, mixed, and chaotic concept of hell, encouraging the creation of diverse, creative compositions and pure innovative thought.
The game features different graphic developments for each type of object. Character cards have a distinct style, combining collage for the characters' clothing with illustrations depicting their appearance beneath these garments. Other cards, however, focus more on collage, with photographic elements predominating, while illustrations complement and enrich the surrounding composition.
HOW TO PLAY
Preparation involves secretly distributing roles—Sinner, Dante, or Imp—and organizing the sin decks according to the circle of Hell where the game begins.
The core dynamic revolves around visually representing sins with allegory cards. In each round, a sin is secretly chosen, and players must represent it without communicating. Based on the cards played, players try to guess the sin being acted out—and each correct or incorrect guess directly influences the course of the game.
Calunnia delivers a surrealist design that celebrates chaos, plasticity, and ambiguity. Wrapped in dark themes, the game avoids generic clichés and stands out with an innovative, irreverent, and humor-filled graphic design.

Calunnia
Calunnia is a board game directed towards young-adults with a focus on creative ideas and cultural development by having Dante Aligheri's Divine Comedy as its central theme. In a medium where the most popular language is illustration, the objective was to create a product that stands out from other analog games due to its chaotic and surreal visual language.
